AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Linda Matthew Attaway, 57, wife of Mr. John Thomas Attaway of New McDuffie Rd., Augusta, entered into rest Thursday, October 16 2008, at Doctor's Hospital. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors this Monday, October 20, 2008, at 12:00 P.M. with the Reverend Greg Bentley officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Attaway, a native of Baltimore, MD, a daughter of the late Michael Louis Matthew, had lived in Augusta for the past forty seven years. Mrs. Attaway retired as an Administration Coordinator of the Cardiology Department of the Medical College of Georgia. Her passion was caring for her grandchildren and going to church at Southside Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to her husband include her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Dawn Attaway and David Adams of Augusta; mother, Jean R. Cenate of Martinez; brother, Charles Matthew of Seaford, DL; sisters and brothers- in-law, Connie and Jerry Corley of Augusta and Jeanne and Don Wilber of Blythe; grandchildren, Kevin and his spouse Marie Adams, Ashley Adams, Chad Adams and Travis Adams; great grandson, David Adams; sisters-in-law, Ann Hoover (Gary) of Woodstock, VA, Caroline Brummett (Carol) of China Springs, TX, Joan Kelly (John) of Hagerstown, MD; brothers-in-law, Joseph C. (Kathy) Attaway of Augusta; a best friend, Diane Corley; along with many other loving family members and friends.
