John was a 2003 graduate of Swanton High School in Swanton, Ohio, and formerly employed by Penn Line Services in Toledo, Ohio and Chapman-Martin Excavating of Kenova, West Virginia. He was a serviceman in the United States Marines and was serving in the 2d Marine Division 2d Assault Amphibian Battalion at the time of his death. In his spare time, John enjoyed drawing, painting and had a passion for music and the guitar. John was a member of the American Legion Post #479 of Swanton. John passed away on October 13, 2008, at Camp LeJeune, NC.
