Relatives and friends in the Lucas community were shocked Tuesday by the news of the sudden death of AARON A. CULLER, aged 65, well-known native of Lucas and prominent Pittsburgh architect, who succumbed at his home in Emsworth, Pennsylvania, Tuesday morning. Stricken with a heart attack while on the way to his office Mr. Culler passed away before medical aid could be secured, according to information received in Lucas. So far as Lucas relatives knew he had been enjoying the best of health. A son of Enoch and Jane (Rugh) Culler, the deceased was born on the Culler homestead, now owned by his brother, David, east of Lucas on January 18, 1877. After completing his early education in the Monroe Township and Lucas schools, he studied at Wittenberg College in Springfield from which he graduated. For many years he had been well established in a professional career as an architect in the Pittsburgh area. His interests and talents were also engaged in many cultural and literary fields. One of his more recent projects had been the preparation of a history, after long research through official records, maps, deeds and old letters of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church east of Lucas, one of the oldest Lutheran congregations in northern Ohio.

Among the survivors are the widow, Mrs. Edna Culler, a daughter, Miss Jane Culler, a librarian at Wittenberg College, and two sons, Lt. Phillip Culler in the U.S. Army aviation service now stationed on the west coast and John Culler, also an architect, residing in Warren. Also surviving are a brother, David R. Culler, well-known Monroe Township farmer, and a sister, Mrs. Floyd Cole, who resides south of Perrysville. A sister, Miss Martha Culler, passed away several years ago. According to information available in Lucas Tuesday evening funeral services were to have been held in the Emsworth Lutheran Church, of which Mr. Culler was an active member, Wednesday evening after which the body was to be brought to Lucas. Funeral services will be held in the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Thursday afternoon (today), with Rev. Dr. G.E. Swoyer of Mansfield and Rev. C.B. Stacy officiating. The former was a close friend of the deceased while they were students in Wittenberg College. Interment will be made in the Mt. Zion Cemetery with the Byerly Funeral Home in charge.
