Former District Attorney Dies at 88
Services for William R. Camp, 88, former district attorney here, who died Wednesday at his home, 1600 Cincinnati Avenue, will be conducted Thursday morning with Rev. Edwin C. Calhoun officiating.
Camp, widely known in Texas political circles, was the father of W. Pat Camp, assistant district attorney, and John F. Camp, San Antonio oil operator. He was born in Gilmer in 1852 and moved to San Antonio in 1891 shortly after he had helped nominate James Stephen Hogg for Governor.
He served one term as: district attorney in 1892 and retired to private law practice. He retired from his practice in 1915.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Euola Camp; two sons, W. Pat and John P. Camp; a brother, B. W. Camp; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Judge Will R. Camp, 88, retired attorney and district attorney for Bexar County before the turn of the century, was to be buried Thursday with services at 10 a. m. from the Hagy-McCollum-Murray funeral home chapel.
The Rev. Edwin C. Calhoun was to officiate at the services and interment in Dignowity Cemetery.
Judge Camp, native of Gilmer and San Antonio resident for the past 50 years, died Wednesday morning at his residence, 1600 West Cincinnati Avenue. He was the father of W. Pat Camp, assistant district attorney.
He was a member of the Methodist church.
Admitted to the bar in 1871 Judge Camp practiced in San Antonio from 1890 until his retirement in 1916, He was appointed district attorney by the governor and served from 1892 to 1894;
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Euola Camp; sons John F. and W. Pat Camp; four grandsons, one great-grandson and a brother B.W. Camp.
