Dr. Wade R. Bedingfield, Jr., 84, of Village Parkway, entered into rest Saturday, October 18, 2008. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at Fairview Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert F. Fuller and Dr. G. Daniel McCall officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memorial Park. Dr. Bedingfield was born in Albany, NY and moved to Augusta as a small child. He attended Richmond Academy, University of Georgia, and graduated from the Medical College of Georgia. He served his residency in Boston, MA opening his first practice in Harlem, GA in 1954. Dr. Bedingfield moved to North Augusta and opened his practice there in 1958 and retired in 1993. He was an active member of Fairview Presbyterian Church and a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Mr. Bedingfield was preceded in death by his wife Betty Johnson Bedingfield and a son Wade Ramsey Bedingfield, III. Survivors are a daughter, Deborah B. Barber of North Augusta, five sisters, Barbara Holcomb (Bill) of Roswell, GA, Francine Rosenthal (Ross) of Pueblo, CO, Sally Stokeley (David) of Fernindina Beach, FL, Jean Woodruff of Hephzibah, GA, and Patricia Krels (Bill) of Spokane, WA, two grandchildren, Jennifer Barber Turno (David) and Charles Frederick Barber, III, and one great grandson, Justin Turno. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of his Fellowship Sunday School class. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6:00 to 8:00.
