Mr. Allan was born June 23, 1929, in Redondo Beach, Calif., to William John Ford and Isabella (Kelly) Allan. He was the fifth of their six children and raised in a strong Catholic family.
When he was 14 years old, he started helping his family by delivering produce to grocery stores for a major produce distributor.
After graduating from high school, he worked with his father in a steel mill and later became a cabinet maker. He also worked in auto sales and received numerous awards as the top salesman for several Ford and Cadillac dealerships in the Los Angeles area.
He retired in 1989 and moved to Klamath Falls. A few years later, he purchased a home in the Keno area. He also worked for a couple years as a car salesman at Town & Country Motors with his friend Bob Nelson.
Mr. Allan especially enjoyed the outdoors. He loved the ocean, surf fishing, deep sea fishing, and sailing on the ocean in his sailboat. He liked hunting, riding motorcycles, watching the wildlife near his home, and walking in the woods with his dog "Cowboy."
He often rescued lost or abandoned pets in the Keno area.
Survivors include his daughter Barbara Yost of Keno; son Jack Allan Jr. of Long Beach, Calif.; grandchildren Erin Allan of Long Beach and Patrick Salen and Michael Falloon of Sacramento; great-granddaughter Audrey Rose Allan of Long Beach; and brother and sister-in-law Orville and Cathy Allan of Southern California.
He was preceded in death by brothers Dave and Christopher Allan; sisters Hessie Mooney and Helen Bailey; daughter-in-law Nancy Allan; and son-in-law Ken Yost.
