Verna Viola Brakhage of Lincoln, beloved mom, grandmother, and friend, passed away Friday morning, Oct. 17, 2008, at the age of 86. Born May 17, 1922, in Clatonia, Neb., to Art and Ollie Krauter. Married George Brakhage on October 11, 1945. To this union, three sons were born: Brad, Craig and Paul. Long-time member of Southminster United Methodist Church and the V.F.W. Club.
Survived by son, Paul and wife Kathy; granddaughter, Amanda and husband Michael Wilmot. Preceded in death by husband, George; sons, Brad and Craig, parents; sisters, Goldie, Pearl and Irene; and brother, Grant.
Services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 10 a.m. at Southminster United Methodist Church, 2915 S. 16th Street, Lincoln. Closed casket visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Interment at Lincoln Memorial Park
