Born on a farm South of Seneca, in 1921 the family moved farm west of Frankfurt, Graduated from Frankfort High School in 1931, attended college at Manhatten, earned a teaching degree. Taught two years at country school near Vermillion, then for three years at Rock School north of Seneca. Married Raymond J. Oberding on Dec. 29, 1936 at Annunciation Church at Frankfort. They lived in Seneca before moving to Steinar, Nebraska, where they operated Rays Market and later added a locker plant. They sold plant and bought farm near near Burchard, NE in 1960. She was a cook and manager school lunch program in Burchard for 1962-1972. After retirement, she and Ray spent winters in Arizonia 10 yrs and Texas for 5 yrs. They celebrated 58 yrs. of marriage before Rays death on May 11, 1955. Member of the Sts Peter and Paul Church, Altar Society in Seneca,, She enjoyed cooking, baking bread, crocheting and raising her family. Survived by two sons, Eugen, Porta Gordo, FL; Donald, Beatrice, Neb; two daughters, Marilyn Webzyl of Elk Creek, Janice Thomas, Lincoln, NE; a brother Hubert Roeder, Frankfort; a sister, Rachel Seemater, Frankfort, 27 grandchildren and 45 great-great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial, Thurs. Oct. 23, 2008 at Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial at Church Cemetary. Lauer Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
