Melva Smith Breakall, 96, of McKeesport, Pa., formerly of Bedford, Pa. and a resident of Kane Nursing Home, McKeesport, Pa., died Monday, December 27, 2004 at the nursing home.
Born May 12, 1908 in Artemas, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Brosie and Myrtle (Smith) Smith.
She had been employed by Cleavers Jewelry Store in Bedford, Pa.
She was a member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School.
She is survived by her husband, Reed Breakall of White Oak, Pa.; three step-daughters, Sherry Stamm of Fairplay, CO.,
Judy Johnston of White Oak, and Nancy Meyer of McKeesport, Pa.; seven step-grandchildren, six step-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Rintha Troutman, Nellie Smith and Myrtle M. Groffous; four brothers, Herbert Smith, Thurman Smith, Joseph Smith and Ernest Smith.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 6 at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Rev. F. Allan Weatherholt, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
