Ronald Joe Hatheway, a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, went to be with the Lord while at his home with his family by his side at 7:30 in the evening on Saturday, October 18th following an 8 month struggle with cancer. Ron was born November 3, 1937 in Stanberry, Missouri to Helen and Tolbert Hatheway. He married Dena Belle Duley in 1956, she preceded Ron in death. Ron married Garnett Marie Agard in 1988.

Ron graduated from Stanberry High School and Northwest Missouri State University. He retired from Phillips Petroleum Company in 1992 after more than 30 years of dedicated service. Ron was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dewey and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Ron is survived by his wife of 20 years Garnett Hatheway of the home, six children and two step-children. Dena Joe Trailer and her husband Tom of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Ronnie Dean Hatheway and wife Carrie of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Barbara Sue Felegi and husband Joe of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Anita Beth Montgomery and husband Charlie of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Tammy Rhena Amerson and husband Mike of Okema, Oklahoma, Michael Nathan Hatheway and wife Brandy of Ottawa, Kansas, Donna Marie Hedges and husband David of Arlington, Texas, and Linda Aleen Cooper and husband Gary of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 25 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a host of other family members, friends, and his loving dogs Casey, Ben and Abby. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Alvin, Delbert, Danny and Mike.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Dewey with Pastor Mark Wright officiating. Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery. Funeral services and interment will be under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
