FUNERAL OF MRS. WELCH. Buried in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
The funeral for Mrs. Sarah Jane Welch was held last Saturday with services at Mt. Zion M. E. church. Frederick, at 10 a. m. The sermon was delivered by the pastor, Rev. J, W. Niell, who took his text from Job 14:14 and 1st. John 11:25-26. There was a large attendance of friends as well as relatives of the deceased.
At the conclusion of the services, about noon, the funeral procession took its way to the cemetery at Wesley Chapel, the place of interment. The pall-bearers were: L. J. Hays, F. R. Hays, Elmer Davis, Roscoe Davis, George Litchfield, Henry Koch.
Sarah Jane Sparks was born Oct. 6, 1348, in Missouri. She was married to Samuel H. Welch May 1, 1865. To this union were born ten children, seven of whom are living. Those living are: Mrs, Eugenia Eisenhour, Little River; Mrs. Ida Bell Dorsey, Weir City: Mr. Barton Welch, Langley: Mr. Lorenzo Don Welch, Miles City, Mont.; Mrs. Mary Etta Shook, Hoisington; Mrs. Martha Jane Vermillion, wife of H. F. Vermillion of Frederick; Emerson R. Welch, who lived at home with his mother. The children who died were: James W., April 2, 1876; Henry E., Feb. 9, 1892; Minnie May, Dec. 2, 1892. Her husband died Dec. 15. 1905. They lived in this township about thirty years and came to Frederick about ten years ago. Mrs. Welch was a true-hearted Christian, having united with the Methodist Episcopal church in the earlier years of her life, and lived a life consistent with its teachings. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. F. Vermillion, Jan. 27, 1910, after a lingering illness of about a year. She was loved and respected by all, and her death is mourned wherever she was known.
