Sent to Jefferson Barracks, Missouri; assigned to Company B, 370th Infantry. Transferred to Newport News, Virginia. Died of pneumonia on April 18, 1918 at the Embarkation Hospital, Newport News, Virginia. Buried in Military Cemetery, Hampton Roads, Virginia.

Died at age 18 years, 3 months.
