Funeral services for John Henry Brownlow of Texico were held Sept. 7 at the Steed-Todd Chapel.
Burial followed at the Texico Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Grisham officiated. Steed-Todd Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Mr. Brownlow died Sept. 4, 1987 at Clovis High Plains Hospital. He was born Sept. 27, 1924, in Akron, Ohio.
He was a carpenter and contractor and served with the Merchant Marines. He had lived in Texico and Portales for 15 years and was a New Mexico resident about 30 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, LeVerne Purcell Brownlow of the home, two daughters, Betty Worrell, Colorado Spring, Colo.; and Diane Pearson, Denver, Colo.; a step-daughter, Joe Don Stevens, Canyon, Texas; two sisters, Polly Glaze, Talladega, Ala., and Juanita, Sanford, Fla.; and 11 grandchildren.
