Arthur Baker was the son of Thomas Green Baker and born in England. He married Annie Miller on February 22, 1898 and a year later had Ellen followed by Thomas in Brighton then emigrated to Canada. He worked as a blacksmith in England and his skills got him a job at the Dominion Bridge Company in Lachine Quebec.

He was a very tall red haired man. Standing 6'7" and was admired by many. Arthur died very suddenly of a Massive coronary during dinner on his Grandaughter Phyllis' 5th birthday.
