George Lee Matthews, age 56, died August 25, 1998 of injuries received in an auto train accident.

He was born April 24, 1942 in Tooele, Utah to George Parley and Ruth Cox Matthews. He married Mary Lynn Walters March 22, 1968, later divorced. He married Paula Willson September 20, 1987 in Elko, Nevada. A member of the LDS Church he enjoyed hunting, trap shooting, fishing and camping.He is survived by his wife and sons, Guy Alan (Tara), St. George, Utah; and Jed Lee of Salt Lake City; two grandchildren; his mother; a brother, Dean (Betty); and father and mother-in-law, Jack and Betty Willson.

Funeral service will be held on Friday August 28, 1998 at 1 p.m. in the Grantsville 9th Ward 415 West Apple St. Friends may call at Tate Mortuary 110 So Main St. Tooele on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior at the Church on Friday. Interment Grantsville Cemetery.
