He married Alphonsine Lafontaine in St Edwidge, Compton Co., Quebec, September 22, 1890. On Oct 17, 1902, they emigrated by train, via Newport,VT, to Fitchburg,MA where they had many relatives. He was employed as a fireman at the Iver Johnson's Arms & Cycle Works for many years prior to his retirement 15 years ago. He was a member of the Ancient Order of United Workmen.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Parmelia Boucher, Mrs.Florence Bedard and Mrs. Wilhelmine Laprise all of this city; a son, Neil J. Bouchard of Ashburnham; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Marguerite Gagnon and Mrs. Wilhelmina Ashland (actually, Archeline} both of Milford, L.I., NY., and three brothers, Hector N. of this city, David of Montreal and Hervey of St. Francis LaSalle, Canada.
Joseph became a USA citizen September 26, 1939. He died Nov 18, 1947.
A member of St. Joseph's Church, burial was in St. Joseph's Cemtery, Fitchburg, Mass.
