SOUTH PITTSBURG - Margaret Catherine Roberson claimed her heavenly crown on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013.
The 90 years she spent here on earth were simple yet full years. She loved God, her family and people from all walks of life who were blessed to have known her. She was a gentle soul, always kind and giving, honorable and upright in all her ways.
She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Rocky Springs, Ala.
Catherine grew up in Alabama, but moved to Tennessee at a young age where she met and married Hobert Roberson. This happy union lasted until Hobert's passing in 1986.
Catherine's passions were gospel music, crocheting, reading her Bible, her family, her many friends and the Crimson Tide.
Her parents were Matt and Jane Payne Brooks. She was also preceded by six brothers, Bud, Kermit, Armstead, Dewey, Jim and Warren Brooks; and two sisters, Mayme Runyan and Mildred Brooks.
Those left behind to cherish the memories she made for us and the legacy of values she wove so gently around us, first and most, to always love our Lord Jesus Christ, are her son, Neil (Betty) Roberson; daughters, Laura Neil, Linda (Gray) Smith and Debbie (Carl) Mount; seven grandchildren, Kristy, Charles, Pooh, Jason, Katie, Matt and Josh; and 10 great-grandchildren; special friend, Beth Young.
Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. CST, Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, with Chaplain Jack Nichols officiating.
Interment will follow in Cumberland View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matt and Josh Roberson, Jason Mount, Charles Smith, Houston Avans and David Phillips.
