Mr. Patterson had worked for the Ann Arbor Railroad for 10 years and was employed at the Owosso Post Office for 25 years.
Mr. Patterson was born in Watertown Township, Clinton County, on December 18, 1924, the son of the late Alfred and Carrie Patterson. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years Wauneita and sister Martha.
Mr. Patterson was president of his Laingsburg High School class of 1941. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1942, and served as a medic in Florida. Upon discharge, he enrolled at Michigan State University as a pre-med student.
His joys were flying, sailing, traveling, cats, gardening and carpentry.
He was survived by two sons, John (Christel) Patterson and Christian (Sherry) Patterson; grandchildren, John, Christian, and Katy; great-grandchildren, James, Shea and Jordan; and very good friend, Susan Fox.
