Russell Glenn, a resident of Salida, Colorado since 1902, died at 3 a.m. Wednesday at his home, 714 C Street, following a lingering illness.

He came to Salida with his late parents Mr. and Mrs. J. I. Glenn from Nevada, Missouri. His father was prominent in Chaffee County Democratic politics and served many years as a Chaffee county commissioner.

The family engaged in ranching on Adobe Park. After selling the ranch a few years ago they purchased the property at 216 E. Street and moved to town.

He and Virginia May Vaughn were married on December 30, 1925 in Salida.

He was affiliated with BPO Elks lodge number 808 and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

Surviving are his widow, May of Salida; three daughters, Mrs. George (Nadine) Bishop of Salida, Mrs. Dewey (Greeba) Maez of Denver and Mrs. Shirley Wilcox of ElPaso, Texas; eight grandchildren; three brothers L.R. Glenn, C.L. Glenn both of of Salida and Kayle Glenn and a sister Mrs. Irene Scott both of Fort Collins. In adition a large number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Chapel of the Vision. the Odd Fellows will have charge of the committal services at the graveside in Fairview Cemetery.

His mother was Martha Francis DeAtley daughter of John Thomas DeAtley and Sophia Jane Hardin.
