ERNEST LOSHBOUGH DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS
Had Lived in or Near South Bend for 19 Years---Funeral Monday Morning
Ernest D. Loshbough, of 108 S. Emerick st., died at 4 o'clock Friday morning, of pleural pneumonia at St. Joseph's hospital. He was ill but one week. He was born in Clay township May 13, 1866, and has resided in South Bend and vicinity all his life. For 19 years he was employed by the Singer Manufacturing Co., where he held the position of foreman at the time of his death. Surviving him are his father, James B. Loshbough, of this city and the following brothers and sisters: Miss Clara Loshbough, Mrs. John Broughton, of Chicago; Mrs. Lawrence Burns and Mrs. John O'Brien, of Niles, Mich.; Mrs. M. S. Gooley, of Los Angeles, Cal., and J. W. Loshbough, of Mishawaka.
Mr. Loshbough was a member of the Loyal Americans, St. Vincent de Paul, and the Holy Name society, and of St. Joseph's Catholic church.
Funeral services will be held from St. Joseph's Catholic church Monday morning at 9 o'clock, the pastor, Rev. P. J. Carroll, officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove cemetery. The body may be viewed by friends at the residence up to the time of the services.

Gravesite Details

Review of census records by Robin indicates Earnest was 4 during the 1870 census and 14 during the 1880 census. Appears actual birthdate was 1866, not 1864 as indicated on grave marker. Another hand-written family record supports this fact.
