Glen Cecil King, 81, of Dalton, died at his home Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001. He was born June 2, 1920, near Dalton, a son of the late Charles and Nettie Agnew King. His wife, Wildean Cook King, four sisters and four brothers, also preceded him in death. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include two sons, Joseph King of Porum, Okla. and Steve King of Dalton; six daughters, Debbie Crawford of Doe Run, Mo., Sandra Trent of Elkins, Ark., Donna Emmons of Marion, and Charlotte Upshaw, Glenda Causbie and Mary Annette King, all of Dalton; two brothers. Woody King of Dalton, and Leo King of Pocahontas; two sisters, Eva Pirtle of Atlanta, GA, and Vivian Davis of Illinois; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday in the Chapel of Cox Waymon Funeral Home with Thurman Holt and James Coker officiating. Burial followed in Upshaw Cemetery. The VFW Post 4556 Honor Guard conducted military honors at the gravesite. Pallbearers were Tim, Steven, and Andy King, Kevin Upshaw, Bobby Crawford and Jack Harrison.
