Cecilia was born October 16, 1923, in Sturgeon Bay, Wi. daughter of the late Wenzel and Dora (nee Haberli) Smejkal.
She was a graduate of Sevastopol High School, class of 1941. Cecilia then graduated from Manitowoc Business College in 1943 as an administrative assistant. On February 19, 1949, she married Austin Seiler at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Institute, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2006.
Cecilia was employed for 13 years with the Federal Housing Authority. She also worked as a manager for Holiday House and Manitou Manor and worked in the Manitowoc Public Library, retiring in June 1985. Cecilia was a member of Catholic Woman's Club, St. Theresa Society of St. Andrew Catholic Church and the Historical Society of Manitowoc.
Cecilia enjoyed music, reading and watching Packers games with her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her three grandsons. During her time in Iola, she became quite fond of Bingo, making desserts and socializing with her newfound friends. Even people who only knew her a short time considered her a friend. She was endlessly kind and unimpeachably honest, a lady always generous with her affection. Those who knew her will miss her whimsical and gentle sense of humor.
