Jim grew up in Missouri and graduated from Skidmore High School. On April 5, 1951, Jim entered the U.S. Air Force and served in Guam during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on November 14, 1958. Jim was married to Carolee Harris and would later marry Dianne Harms. Jim returned to Missouri and worked as a carrier for Pony Express for many years out of Kansas City. After his retirement, Jim moved to Monroe in 1997. He enjoyed collecting model cars and clocks, going to auctions, reading and doing puzzles. Jim also enjoyed spending time with Roscoe his dog.
