Died at St. Joseph Village in Manhattan, son of Arthur and Maggie (Shepherd) Prince. Prior to being drafted in 1943, he served with Civilian Conservation Corps, served with distinction and honors with WWII African and European Theatres and the Korean War in the A Battery 5th Field Artillery Operations. He retired in 1966 at Fort Riley, and remained in Junction City with wife Georgianna, whom he married Feb. 3, 1959. Following retirement, he worked as supervisor of ambulance section and as an Equal Opportunity Officer at Irwin Army Community Hospital as a civil service employee, with distinction and honors, later for Foot Locker Distribution Center in Junction City. Member of Church of Our Savior Methodist Church, Acaia, Masonic Lodge #91, Retired Enlisted Association, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, VFW Post #8773 and for many years was active with Boy Scouts of America and Junction City High School Foresnic Team. Survivors include wife of 49 yrs, Georgianna of Junction City, son Ron, daughter-in-law Zoe Prince and four grandchildren, all of Manhattan. Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Elmer and James Prince. Pallbears will be members of 1-28-Infantry Battalion.
