Mrs. J.E. Leasure Sr., Former Cook at Butler VA, Dies at Age 94

Mrs. Grace E. Leasure, 94, of McClelland Avenue, New Castle, died at 6:20 p.m. yesterday in Jameson Memorial Hospital, New Castle, Mrs. Leasure had been a cook for Jameson Memorial Hospital, New Castle, and the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Butler, and had been employed at one time by Axes Market, New Castle. She had also been a Stanley Home Products hostess for 20 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ, New Castle. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Jan. 21, 1895, she was the daughter of Warren H. and Mamie El. Shelar Clark. Her husband, James E. Leasure Sr., died Sept. 14, 1976. They were married June 4, 1913. Surviving are five sons, Lester R. Leasure of New Castle, Paul W. of Butler, Albert W. of New Castle, Russell M. in Hawaii, and Donald R. of New Castle; two daughters, Mrs. Marion (Grace) Barnhart of Sebring, Fla., and Mrs. Edwin (Anna) Gregor of Stuart, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Selena Fleeger of New Castle; 39 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. A son, a daughter, and three brothers preceded her in death. LEASURE - Friends of Mrs. Grace E. Leasure of McClelland Avenue, New Castle, who died Sunday, Feb. 26, 1989, will be received at the Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 N. Jefferson St., New Castle from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the funeral home, with the Rev. David G. Lanpher, pastor of the Washington Union Christian & Missionary
Alliance Church, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, New Castle. Arrangements by Turner- Myers. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 209 N. Mercer St., New Castle.
