Betsey S. White was the youngest of six daughters of Aron White and his wife Sarah Smart. She married Edmond Whitehouse in Vassalboro on 24 September 1837. They were the parents of at least six children: Eugene; Hortense; Sarah; William; Hannah; Ada. Hortense and William died as children. Eugene went on to marry and have children after serving in the Civil War. He was a lawyer. Sarah married but died at the age of 25 and no children have been found of hers. Hannah aka H. Mary was mentioned in her father's probate records and in her mother's will but no further record has been found. Ada married and had at least two children.
