Paula Maxine Benson, 97, of Richland Center, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2008 at Pine Valley Healthcare. She was born June 26, 1911 in Sabin, Wisconsin, the daughter of Lloyd and Iota (Brown) Bailey. Maxine married Rossie Benson on August 16, 1930.

Maxine had a love for cooking and gardening, and loved the maple syrup season. During her later years she acquired a love for sewing and quilting. She was also an active member at her church, and loved her family very much.

Survivors include: a daughter-in-law Gretchen (Ewing) Benson of La Farge, her Grandchildren, Jean (Richard) Noble of La Farge, Patricia (Roger) Hutchcroft of Lancaster, Scott (Tammy) Benson of Westby, Philip (Nichole) Benson of Richland Center, Michael Benson (fiancé Lisa Durst) of Richland Center, Matthew Benson (fiancé Alison Adams) of La Farge, 11 great grandchildren: Ashley, Bo Jesse, Samantha, Journee, Dreona, Emily, Crystal, Hayden, Roger Jr., Madyson, and Remington, a niece: Luanne (David) Dregne, a nephew Jack (Loraine) Unbehaun, Along with many special friends.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Myrtle Marie Unbehaun, and son James Benson.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel in Richland Center with Pastor Robert Streeter officiating. Burial was held at the Viola Cemetery.

Friends called on Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at the Pratt Memorial Chapel from 12:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 PM.

The Pratt Funeral Service of Richland Center assisted the family with their arrangements.
