(Obituary published in the Carroll Chronicle,
Carrollton, Ohio,
Friday, December 3,
1909.)

Mrs. Mary Albaugh, nee Phillips, died Wednesday, November 17, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Phoebe Barnette, Tarpon Springs, Florida.

The deceased was born in Kilgore, Ohio, January 30, 1835, where she lived until 1902, when she
and her husband came to this place staying until 1904, and returning again in 1908 to spend the last days of her long and useful life here.

Fifty-two years ago, the 26th of this month she was married to Peter Albaugh,
who must go the rest of the journey without the companion of many years.

Of the ten children born to them, five remain to mourn a mother's loss, Dr. A. P.
Albaugh and Mrs. Lucian Barnette, of this place, Mrs. Mary C. Slates of
Bergholz, Ohio, Mrs. Annie L. Smith of Amsterdam, Ohio, and Jason W. Albaugh,
who is now attending the Chicago College of Medicine and Surgery. She also
leaves a brother, Andrew Phillips, living at Kilgore, Ohio, and a sister, Mrs.
Elizabeth Seeton, living at Ossawotamie, Kansas.

Mrs. Albaugh was converted at the age of 15 years, and for three score years
lived a useful and consistent christian life, having identified herself with the
Methodist Episcopal Church and being at the time of her death a member of the
church at Tarpon Springs, Florida.
She was always interested in everything
pertaining to the Master's work.

Her last words were: "Jesus is with me." She
had been in delicate health for ten years, but her life was always characterized
by patience and sweet, gentle ways. The funeral services were held at the home,
November 18, at 2:30 p.m., and her body laid to rest in the family plot in
Cycadia cemetery.
