QUIMBY and JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Linda A. Smith, 59, died peacefully Aug. 30, 2005, at her residence. She was born April 27, 1946, in Winterville, the daughter of Fred and Bernice (Thibodeau) Soucie. She worked many years at Maine General Hospital and was a long time member of St. Mary's Church, all in Augusta. She is survived by her husband of more than 37 years, Kendall Ora Smith, of Quimby and Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter, Stacey Smith Goldberg and her husband, Craig, of Jacksonville, Fla.; one son, Todd Smith and his wife, Marsha, of Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandsons, Kyle and Luke Goldberg of Jacksonville, Fla.; one granddaughter, Aislym Smith, of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Norma Vaillancourt of Plantsville, Conn., Sandra Soucie of Sabattus, and Karen Roy of Linneus; four brothers, Roderick Soucie of Meriden, Conn., Carlton Soucie of Winterville, Ronald Soucie of Bangor and Randy Soucie of Ocala, Fla.; mother-in-law, Marjorie Smith of Presque Isle; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Hope Smith; and one brother, Richard Soucie. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent, and 10 a.m. Saturday until time of departure for Eagle Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated noon Saturday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eagle Lake, with Monsignor Leopold Nicknair officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Veteran's Cemetery, Caribou.
