Uncle Thomas Allison, the oldest man in Blue Ridge, died on Suinday morning the 28th at 12:30 o'clock. Uncle Tom will be missed very much. He was 81 years old and the father of 22 children, 16 of whom are alive. His first wife died on the same bedstead about thiry eight years ago. His remains were entered at Mt Pleasant Monday at 11 o'clock. The Rev. C. C. Spence preached the funeral.
Thomas was married first to Louiza Jane Owens on Feb 14, 1839 and second to Mary Ann Findley on April 11, 1860.
His DOB is not known however using the obituary it would be 1814 although census records do not confirm this.
