Royal E. "Bob" "Oly" Olson was born on September 30, 1920 in Scatsguard, Saskatchewan, Canada to Oscar & Anna (Anderson) Olson.
He died on August 4, 2007 in St. Helens at the age of 86.
He moved to the U.S. in 1923. and was educated here.
He married Thelma Sievers in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on Feb. 18, 1941, she preceded him in death on October 22, 2001.
He worked at the Boise Paper mill for all of his adult life retiring at the age of 62.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in St. Helens and he enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Survivors include: 3 children: Gordon Olson of Bend, OR.; Pat Fiori of St. Helens; Gary Olson of Nashville, OR.; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service & vault interment: Bethany Memorial Cemetery on Thursday, 8/9/07 at 11:00 AM.
