He worked as a millwright for over 32 years with Parker Rustproofing in Madison Heights. 1979 He moved to McFarland and has lived in this area ever since.
Veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy, receiving the America Area Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Area Ribbon with one bronze star, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the World War II Victory Ribbon.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and all outdoor activities. Allen was a member of Little Lake American Legion Post #349 and Gwinn VFW Post #5670.
