Miss Finch Dies in Houston
Miss Amy Finch, 80, who had practiced nursing since she was 18 years old, died Tuesday in a hospital in Houston.
Miss Finch, a native of Flora, Ill., had lived in Fort Worth since 1922 and resided at 127 W. Cannon.
She received her registered nurse's qualifications in 1912 in Texarkana.
Miss Finch entered Army nursing services in 1918, and later served at the old Johnson-Bell Hospital here.
She also practiced at St. Joseph Hospital but retired from hospital duty in 1947 after sustaining injuries in an ambulance accident. However, he (sic she) continued private duty practice until the first of this year.
Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at the National Cemetery Chapel in Houston. Burial will be at the cemetery.
