Napoleon Resident Succumbs and Will Be Buried Beside Her Husband Thursday.

Maria L. Risinger, of near Napoleon, died Tuesday afternoon at her home, at the age of 93 years and nine months. She was one of the oldest and best known residents of her community and one of the best beloved.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the residence, and at 2:30 o'clock at the Mud Pike Baptist church, of which she was a member. Burial will be at the church cemetery beside her husband, who preced her in death eleven years ago.

She was born in Dearborn county on Oct. 17, 1835, the daughter of Dudley and Maria Clark. On Nov. 22, 1855, she was married to Lewis Risinger, of Ripley county. They lived near Delaware for a while, then removed to the present home place.

To them were born nine children, seven of whom survive. All were at the home when Mrs. Risinger died. Ona, Ora and Lowell Risinger live at home; Mrs. John Vankirk (Hattie), in Greensburg; Charles Risinger, Newport; Mrs. Randy (Ella) Mobley, Indianapolis; Mrs. Jacob (Alia) Hiser, New Salem. Cora died when a small child, and Birdie Risinger Bagot died at Anderson about 26 years ago. Two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Risinger was a kindly woman with many friends. She had her hands in the home affairs until but a few years ago, and even two years ago at her 92nd birthday dinner she prepared the pies, bread and cookies.
