Opera Singer. Educated by renown opera singer Hermine Bosetti, she made an informal stage debut in 1923 in Munich, Germany. In 1926 she went to Frankfurt am Main, where she worked with conductor Clemens Krauss and stage director Lothar Wallerstein. She played many different parts before she debuted in Vienna, Austria as 'Zerbinetta' in composer Richard Strauss' opera "Ariadne auf Naxos". Considered by many of her contemporaries as a superb technician and a fine operetta singer, from 1927 until 1935 she performed at the Salzburg Festival, which featured music and drama. She followed Krauss from Vienna to Berlin, Germany, then back to Munich, where she permanently settled. During World War II she continued her singing and she also appeared in several motion poctures. When she was 46 she retired from the stage.
