Mr. Langhorn worked as a tool supervisor for Brookhaven National Laboratory until retiring in1987. He was a Past Master of Tyre Lodge No. 91 and and chaplain of First Baptish Church of Riverhead and a member of its usher board. Family members said he enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting,playing croquet with his grandchildren and the Bible.
Predeceased by his son Pfc. Garfield Langhorn, Riverhead's Congressional Medal of Honor reipient, and his brother James.
