Ellen Collen Rawlings Raven, age 72 of Payson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at her home following a stroke.

She was born August 30, 1936 at Provo, Utah to Parley and Alice Louisa Mott Rawlings (Iverson).

She married Rodney Leon Raven, August 24, 1955 at Provo, Utah. He preceded her in death November 27, 1989.

She graduated from Lincoln High School and LDS Seminary in Orem. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a visiting teacher. She was expert at crocheting, she enjoyed the outdoors and watching the wildlife, she loved horses and especially loved her family.

Survivors include: her children, Mary Ellen (Jerry) Earley, Payson; Janet (Ron) Sanderson, Magna; Ron (Dena) Raven, Lake Shore; Pauline (David) Rich, Santaquin; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Janice Harrison, West Jordan and Marie Sleight, of Duchesne. She was preceded in death by: a sister, Joyce Diane Rawlings; a grandson, Zachery Raven and a daughter-in-law, Shirley Raven.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 1, 2008, 11:00 a.m., in the LDS Chapel at 225 South 400 East (1st-5th Building), Payson. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Friday, 6-8:00 p.m. or at the church Saturday, 9:45-10;45 a.m. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery.
