Services for Freddy R. Attaway, 73, of Whitehouse, are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, at Lloyd James Funeral Chapel with Rev. Sherman Mayfield officiating. Burial will be at Whitehouse Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.

Mr. Attaway passed away on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008 at Hospice of East Texas.

He was born on Oct. 18, 1935, in Overton to the late Willis Hendley and Mattie Bell Wilson Attaway. He attended Salem and New London schools and graduated from Winona High School and Tyler Junior College. He served in the U S. Air Force. He professed his faith in Jesus Christ at an early age in the Assembly of God Church. He owned Attaway Laminated Plastics and Cabinet Shop and currently worked for Tyler Woodworks. He was an excellent craftsman at his trade and many learned and benefited from his knowledge. He will be missed by those people who came to him for advice and answers on how to build or fix things. He was an avid fisherman winning many tournaments and loved to spend time in the Hill Country.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tamera Attaway Mattox.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Attaway; daughter, Tina Todd and husband Joe, and grandson, Brannon Mattox, all of Whitehouse; brothers, Jimmy Attaway and his wife Cathy of Quitman, and Tommy Dale Attaway of Arizona; as well as many cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jim York, Joe Bob Wells, Jerry Mabry, Derek Mabry, Craig Tidwell and Tom Attaway.

Honorary pallbearer is Roy Paul Martin.

If desired, memorials may be made Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, 75701.

He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
