Died at Community Hospital, Onaga, son of August Fredrick and Emma (Brunkow) Honig. He graduated from Onaga High School in 1942. He was a lifelong farmer and stockman and also worked for Hamm Quary for thirteen years. Marvin was member of First Baptist Church in Onaga, a long-time member and President of the Farmers Union and a 45 year Community 4-H leader. He married Wilma Worthington on August 27, 1950 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.She survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons Donald and wife, Kathy of Onaga, Ronald and his wife, Nancy of Hugoton, K; three daughters Karen and husband, Larry Matson, Onaga; Catherine and husband, Michael Gonzalez of Glen Ellyn, IL and Kay and husband, Michael Gerhard of Derby, KS; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; two sisters, Dorothy Jones of Topeka and Inez Rand of Wamego. Marvin was preceded in death by four brothers, an infant Melvin Honig, Chester Honig; Lawrence Honig; and Dale Honig and one sister Lenora Teske. Services held August 9, 2008 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Onaga. Burial will follow in Onaga Cemetary.
