Services for Charles S. Pettit of Rockport, rural Port Murray, were conducted Monday afternoon at the Cochran Funeral Home by the Rev. William Farley, pastor of the Port Murray Baptist Church. Interment was in Port Murray Cemetery.
Mr. Pettit died on Friday October 30, 1953, at his home, following a short illness. He suffered a heart attack in the morning and the Hackettstown First Aid and Rescue Squad was summoned; also Dr. Walter H. Harmon.
Born 45 years ago in Little Silver, Mr. Pettit was a resident of Warren County most of his life. He was employed as a mechanic at Snyder Motors, Hackettstown.
