Gibson Caldwell was a civic leader and successful businessman in McKinney for over 60 years. He was first associated with J.W. Webb Grain Company and for 30 years was head of the Collin County Mill. For 17 years he was president of The First Savings and Loan Company of McKinney. He served as President of the McKinney School Board for 14 years and under his leadership several new school building were erected. He was a Mason of 65 years membership, and for 53 years was a member of the Rotary Club. He was a moving force in the organization of the Chamber of Commerce as well as the Industrial Foundation. There was no area of community life that did not benefit by Gibson Caldwell's public spirited leadership.
