Adah Norma Byam, 89, of Syracuse, died Sunday, November 2, 2008, after a short illness. She had retired from S&H Green Stamps in Eastwood. Mrs. Byam was an active member of Eastwood Baptist Church for over 40 years, was a member of the Women's Circle and a former choir member. She enjoyed doing ceramics with her girlfriends, needlework and cooking for her family. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Walter William Byam; a daughter, Linda (Ron) Zeitz of New Jersey; a son, Craig "Wally" (Mary Ann Vaccaro) Byam of Syracuse; her sisters, Hilda Transue of Cortland, Gladys Quinn of Syracuse and Millicent Combs of Walton; her brother, Harold Gobel of Vermont; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Eastwood Baptist Church, 3212 James St. Burial will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Goddard-Crandall-Shep-ardson Funeral Home, 3111 James St.
