He was born Sept. 8, 1925, in Springfield, the son of Frank and Georgia Brandenburg Shomidie. He married Shirley M. Wall.
Mr. Shomidie served in the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1981 as parts foreman for Fiat Allis after 43 years of service.
Survivors: wife, Shirley; two sons, Bill and Bob Shomidie, both of Springfield; two daughters, Becky Gray of Springfield and Patty (husband, Ben) Hacker of Virden; six grandchildren; a sister, Loretta Chambers of Springfield; a brother, George R. Shomidie of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: Ellinger-Kunz and Davis Funeral Home, the Rev. Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial: Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
