Ben Franklin Gholson was married twice. His first wife was Martha Black Gholson. They married in Kentucky, but the exact date is unknown. She was the mother of all his children including George Conduff Gholson. After Martha Black Gholson died in 1886 he married Mrs. Emma V. Gamwell Dec 29, 1886 in Fort Worth, TX.
