William E. Genzler Jr., age 79, of Baker, Fla., passed away Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, in a local hospital.

He was born in Mason City, Iowa, on Nov. 9, 1928, to William E. and Delma Terpeney Genzler Sr. William proudly served his country as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a major with over 20 years of service. He was a real estate agent in Destin and in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., for many years.

Survivors include his loving wife, Evelyn Genzler of Baker; son, William Genzler of Baker; daughter, Barbara Gough of Valparaiso, Fla.; grandson, Andrew Gough and his wife Breanna of Navarre, Fla.; granddaughter, Erin Schrandt of Fort Walton Beach; great-grandson, Gage; and brothers, Virgil, Glen, Donald and Larry Genzler.

Funeral services will be conducted at McLaughlin Mortuary on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 1 p.m. with a U.S. Air Force chaplain officiating. Interment will follow in Beal Memorial Cemetery, Fort Walton Beach, with military honors.

McLaughlin Mortuary, 17 Chestnut Ave., Fort Walton Beach, is entrusted with the arrangements.
