Mr. Proulx entered the Army on July 20, 1942, and served in Europe, including Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. He was honorably discharged on Nov. 29, 1945.
Following his discharge he worked at Crown Zellerbach in Carthage as a millwright, retiring in 1981.
Mr. Proulx was a member of St. James Catholic Church, the Dionne-Rumble Veterans of Foreign War, and past commander of the Bassett-Baxter American Legion Post 798, all in Carthage and enjoyed fishing, playing cards and gardening.
