Henry Eska McCarty was the 4th & last child born to Ella May Moore and Ovid Domongia McCarty. His Mother died at age 34 , it is believed from rheumatic fever.
He was a very dear person, married to Hilda Laura Aupperle in Klamath Falls, OR 27 July 1936.
Two daughters were born to them: Kathleen Joan b 1938 & Jerilynn Irene b 1941. They are my second cousins.
My Great Uncle Henry was a quiet man but oh how he loved his sports!
He lived in So Calif and was a 'die hard' LA DODGER FAN. He would often be sitting in his favorite armchair in their living room in Whittier with his ear to his radio close by on a side table...it didn't matter if family was visiting, if there was a game on the radio, he was tuned in.
I don't know how he could hear the broadcast when we gathered at their home, which was often, because we were not known to be a quiet bunch. That is probably when he would bring the radio up to his ear for better listening.
I also recall attending a Roller Derby event with him and my cousins in downtown LA.

We are just now learning more of his family genealogy which I am adding online to his McCarty family tree.
Each new find has piqued an interest in this family history.
The earliest ancestor found to date was Darby McCarty who lived during the volitle times of American Revolution; he was a member of the VA Militia, just one example of Henry's not-so-quiet heritage. Below are some exerpts from Darby McCarty's timeline: [his dates of birth and death are not verified]
~He may have married on 4 July 1736 Hannah Richardson, this is not proven.
~1744 Moves to Fredrick County, VA from Bucks County, PA
~24 July 1758 Darby McCarty is in a "Poll List" of Frederick County, VA containing the names of those who voted for George Washington when a candidate for the House of Burgesses.
~9 October 1761 released from duty from the Frederick County VA Militia.
~1762 Darby's Bible printed in Edinburgh.
