Maston Green Clay Keele was the son of Fillmore (Philmore) and Margaret Ann Box Keele. He married Rachel Frances Hoover on August 20, 1839, in Rutherford County, Tennessee (Bk. 1804-1850, p. 38) and they were the parents of Mary Jane, Elsie Ann (Alsey), Henry Hoover, Angeline, Harris, Margaret Ann (Maggie), Tolbert Fannin, Cullender (Cully), Eliza Frances, Amelia Almira (Allie), Jacob Henry (Jake), Talitha, and Iveson Rose (Ivy) Keele. Maston Keele was originally buried on his own property just outside of Killeen but when the city expanded into that area, the DAR moved his remains to this cemetery in town.

The burial place of Rachel Hoover Keele is in Cannon County, Tennessee. The exact location is not presently known but believed to be near her parents. The resting places of some of the children are also presently unknown.

Note: the last "E" in the name has either been lost or removed from the marker. The spelling should be "Keele".
