James L. Smith of Drifton, Pa., former Ohio resident, died Wednesday afternoon Nov. 13, 2002, at Greater Hazelton Health Alliance, Broad Street Campus in Drifton, Pa. He was born in Andover, Ohio, the son of the late Frederick and Edith (Geho)Stuart. He is survied by his wife, the former Elizabeth Acker. He is also survived by five daughters, Mrs. Paul (Dinah) Blair of Piqua, Brenda Fridley of Troy, Mrs. Michael (Terri Jo) Stinson of Kenton, Mrs. Rodney (Cathy) Jewell of Sandy Valley, Pa., and Susan James of Danville, Pa., five sons Tracey Smith of West Liberty, Michael of Jackson Center, Martin of Drifton, Pa., John of Wapakontea and Anthony James of Drifton, Pa., 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, two foster grandchildren and two foster great-grandchildren.Mr. Smith was retired, having worked as a truck driver at Driver's Inc. in Delaware. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines during the Korean War, and received a Korean Service Medal with three stars and a U.N. Service Medal. A sister Lois D. Smith Porter Stapleton and grandson Claude Michael Stinson Jr., and a son-in-law Gary L. Jenkins preceded him in death.

THEY WAS NEVER MARRIED. DAD WAS RAISED MY HIS GRANDMA GEHO AFTER HIS MOM DIED. SHE WAS ONLY 24 AT THE TIME OF HER DEATH. GRANDMA GEHO RAISED HIM AND AUNT LOIS. THEY LIVED WITH HER UNTIL THEY MARRIED. DAD MARRIED RUTH TITUS IN 1950 TO 1953. IN 1953 HE MARRIED MY MOM MINNIE BELLE ORAHOOD AT THE WEST MANSFIELD CHURCH OF CHRIST OCT 23, 1953. THEY HAD 4 KIDS DINAH LYNNE, BRENDA LEE, TRACEY ALLEN, THERESA JO (TERRI JO). THEY DIVORECD JAN 1972 IN BELLEFONTAINE, LOGAN CO., OHIO. HE MARRIED ELIZABETH CAROL ACKER IN PA. HE WORKED AS A FACTORY WORKER & TRUCK DRIVER ALL HIS LIFE. DAD LIVED IN OHIO, PA, AZ. HE DIED NOV 13, 2002 IN HAZELTON, PA.
