"Captain" Clyde J. Allen 1918 ~ 2007 "Man Of Honor" Clyde J. Allen our loving husband, father and grandfather, passed thru the veil to the love and peace of his Heavenly Father and many family and friends January 10, 2007. Clyde was born in Ogden Utah August 24, 1918, to Jesse Peter Allen and Viola Fogelberg Allen. He graduated from Tooele High School, and attended Utah State University, New York University and Harvard University, where he obtained degrees in Accounting, Business and Law. He married the love of his life Norma Tate Allen in New York April 3, 1941, and later solemnized in the Logan Temple. Clyde was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and magnified numerous callings throughout his life. Clyde lived life to its fullest, he enjoyed many things, but most of all, loved spending time with his family. Clyde joined the U.S. Navy in 1941, served in World War II, and the Korean War, later retired with a rank of "Captain". Clyde joined the Tooele County Sheriff's Dept. in 1956, and has been an active member of the Utah Search and Rescue Board. Clyde was a very prominent business man. He was a long time member, and elected President of the Tooele County Chamber of Commerce, and was voted, Tooele County's "2003 Citizen of the Year". Clyde is survived by his wife, Norma; sons, C. Jess Allen II (Gloria) of Pasadena, CA and David E. Allen of Tooele, UT. Also survived by his grandchildren, D. Eric Allen (Desirae) of South Jordan, Jason Bluth (Sariah) of Hillsboro Oregon, Julie Zentner (Mark) of Corona California, Megan Wheildon (Bo) of Norco California and Katie Sheppard (Aaron) of Brigham City, UT; along with his 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 16, 2007, 1:00 p.m. at Tate Mortuary, 110 So Main St., Tooele. Friends may call Monday January 15th at the Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. prior to the services Tuesday. Interment, Tooele City Cemetery.
